Beautiful Ear

We had Aggie's ear appointment today. We will be going back in a month. There is still no certainty that it works well, but may work partially. It may just have fluid in it, which is why they want to re-test her. Regardless of the out come we are so thankful for her little life, and the privilege to be stewards over her.
Thank you Lord for her life, use her for your glory!

Weigh Gain!!!

We had Aggie's well check today. I'm excited to report that she weighs 5lb. 4oz., which is awesome! She was 4 lb. 9oz. when we were discharged. Hooray!! Praise God!

A Story worth telling.

We were all ready to go home from the hospital. They wanted to see Aggie strapped in her car seat. Who knew most car seats are 5 lbs to whatever. Not so helpful if your baby is less than 5 lbs. So needless to say our car seat was too big. We could fit a whole hand between Aggie and the straps. The Dr. tried using blankets to make it fit better, but in the end I and the Dr. decided we just needed to go get a new car seat. Now apparently there is only 1 car seat made for 4 lb. babies. And according to the NICU we called some 5 lb. ones will tighten enough for smaller infants, but who knows which ones those are. So my in-laws came to pick us up from the hospital, my father-in-law and I took off from the hospital in search of a car seat, while grandma baby sat Aggie. I went the the Navy Exchange first b/c they often carry special items and it was the closest store to us, and I was in search of the 4 lb. car seat made by chicco. Thankfully they had it, but only in a travel system. So this is my father-in-law carrying our new travel system through the navy exchange so we could go to the hospital and pick up our 4 lb. baby. We got back and where finally free to leave! And now we have 5 strollers instead of 4. :) I've never had a "travel system" before.

Someone else new at our house.

The weekend before our sweet Aggie was born we got our first family pets.....fishies. Their names are Bert and Ernie, Raspberry Torte and Lemon Meringue. The kids are loving being pet owners, and I enjoy the low maintenance of an aquarium.

Shiloh is growing up so quickly. She is exploring the world of stick people as her handwriting and drawing skills improve. This is our first family sketch done on the magnadoodle.

Something funny Shiloh said at dinner the other night. She had gotten down to throw something in the trash, probably a napkin. She returned to the table and said " Daddy, will you please take the trash out after lunch. It's very full".

Something amusing Hosea did last night after we put him to bed. About an hour passed and he comes out of his room and says " good morning mommy". As if to say, I'm up for the day now at 9:30 pm. Good try little buddy, but go back to bed.

Right Ear Down.......

Well, Miss. Aggie didn't pass her right ear test today. At her 2 week check up they will put a referral in for her to see a ear, nose and throat Dr. who will do more investigating. We are encouraged that there is one ear that seems to be operational, and that there are people available to care for our sweet little girl, besides us of course. We are enjoying being stewards over her little life for as long as the Lord allows. She is making new faces everyday and is such a joy!

Aggie Update

We are all doing well. Adjusting to life with a new little one. Aggie is such a blessing. She is still learning to eat and to be hungary, her main struggle. She also still needs to pass her hearing test for her right ear, we go back for that tomorrow. If she doesn't pass we will be sent to a specialist. We are so thankful for her over all health considering her early arrival that these are relatively minimal struggles. We are so encouraged by Gods kindness to us through this experience and His protection and mercy over Aggie and I, that we are over-flowig with gratitude to our loving Father.
